Serving here in El Salvador on this medical mission has pushed me far outside my comfort zone—and straight into the arms of God’s grace.
Every day, we wake up at 6am, start with team meetings, devotions, and take a long, bumpy ride to the clinic. We work all day in the heat, see hundreds of patients, then return late at night—physically drained, but spiritually full. We shower in cold water, use toilets that don’t flush, with flies everywhere, eat food I never imagined I’d try, drink only bottled water, and even brush our teeth with it, and fight off relentless mosquitoes. It’s nothing like home.
But somehow—it’s everything I needed.
Because every inconvenience fades when I look into the eyes of someone we’re helping. Every smile, every hug, every “gracias” reminds me exactly why I’m here:
To serve, to love, and to care.
These people’s hearts are so simple, so full of gratitude and deep appreciation. Their joy—despite their lack—is deeper than most I’ve seen back home. It melts my heart. It resets my perspective.
This morning’s devotion spoke deeply to me: Acts 20:24
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”
That verse is my heartbeat right now.
This mission isn’t about me—it’s about Him.
It’s not about comfort—it’s about calling.
It’s not about being seen—it’s about being sent. Not for applause—but to be His hands and feet.🦶🏼
So Lord, here I am.
Use me.
Send me.
Make me bold and humble.
Let Your love be the reason I keep going, even when I’m tired, sweaty, bug-bitten, and homesick. Let my life be a testimony to Your grace.
We served 1,925 patients in total—and by God’s grace, I got to witness 17 souls accept Jesus. It’s not a competition, but a reminder that that’s why the enemy attacks what threatens me most. And I know now more than ever that my heart beats for the lost, and I long to serve with a simple, loving spirit for the glory of God.
Thank you for supporting us from back home—thank you. Your prayers, love, and encouragement are carrying us through more than you know.
To God be all the glory. 🌿✨
