GHO has been blessed to have more limited access countries become open to GHO teams coming and serving our national partners. North Africa still remains a challenging area of the world. Our national partner, based in southern Spain, has a NGO recognized by this host country and will allow us to bring a medial team.
Our national partner, Pedro, has an amazing ministry both in Spain and North Africa. His testimony will thrill you as you see how God has His hand upon Pedro, who lives up to his name, with a passion and courage to share the Gospel, in his native Spain, starting home churches, in prisons, in several countries in North Africa, and around the globe. We were introduced to Pedro by a CMDA member, Roy Pendergraft, who spend a career in the Government Service in London and made contact with Pedro during his vacations to Spain. This was truly a God event bringing Pedro and GHO together!
Departing the USA on the 16th, we will arrive in Spain on the 17th via Madrid to Jerez de la Frontera, in Southwestern Spain. Nearby Cadiz, is a city that dates back to Phoenician times. Cadiz, is the oldest continuously inhabited city in Spain and one of the oldest in western Europe. In fact, this is the Tarshish that Jonah fled to, instead of Nineveh, where God commanded him to go and preach. Ruins here date back 6,000 plus years and it is truly an amazing city, very well preserved. We will set up the clinic the afternoon of the 17th. The 18 & 19th, we will serve immigrants and refugees in Jerez that come from North Africa and the Middle East. The 20th we will travel by high speed ferry to North Africa. We will serve refugees living in Ceuta on the 21st & 22nd. The 23rd we will travel several hours inland and set up clinic there. On the 24th & 25th, we will serve a rural area, as well as a handicapped center in this city. Physical and Occupational Therapist will be very critical to this center. Day 26, we will travel back to Jerez where we will set up clinic and on the 27th serve the children and poor (many of them Gypsies). We will return to the US on the 28th.
We can take a team of 12 composed of seasoned GHO team members, especially to limited access countries. We need 3-4 medical providers, 1-2 Dentists and Hygienists for extractions and cleanings, 2 PTs or OTs, 2 RNs, 1 Pharmacist and 1 Logistics (reading glass clinic).
