Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America  bordered by Honduras and Costa Rica as well as the carribean. It is a beautiful country with very friendly people. A year ago Nicaragua had some protesting of the government which caused GHO to pull our teams from the country. It is now a more stabilized country and while things are not completely back to normal, the people do seem to accept having to submit to the current government authorities likely until the next election in 2021. Now schools and universities are open, business and restaurants are open we well into the evenings and churches are holding services.  GHO, working closely with our national partner, now feel it is time to begin sending our teams back to serve in Nicaragua .

The people of Nicaragua are hurting physically, emotionally and spiritually, and they need us to come along side and be the body of Christ to them. They have lived in their country through a time of persecution and are in need of our help. We are going to offer them free healthcare. But more importantly, through a kind word, a warm smile, a loving touch, and our health care, they will receive the message of a loving Savior in Jesus Christ.  We will be offering them the Greatest News and the very reason He sent His only son! Are you willing to join this team? To be His hands and feet to a broken, impoverished, hurting people? “For the Mighty One has done great things for me; and holy is His name."Luke 1:49

We welcome physicians, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, first responders, dental hygienists, dental assistants, physical/occupation therapists, students, logistics (non-medical helpers), and a trip photographer/videographer on all of our general medicine and dentistry trips.

Our team will partner with local pastors sharing both the love of Christ and the Word of God to the precious, needy people of Nicaragua. The relationship between the GHO Team and these pastors has grown deeper with each year. This ministry is a very special one and the relationship between the GHO team and these faithful pastors is very special indeed. We will have the assistance of GHO's resources in Nicaragua which include GHO Central America Director, Rolando Castillo and his staff, as well as some medical and dental equipment. The team will be fed and watered well!

We expect to provide a broad range of services including the usual public health education, an eye clinic with the single vision prescription glasses as well as sunglasses and non-prescription readers.
