TRIP IS CLOSED!

It has been my pleasure to participate on a number of GHO mission trips to Nicaragua over the past 9 years. I have always found the Nicaraguan people to be friendly, appreciative of our medical and dental care and open to receiving the truth of God's love for them through Christ. The country has a lot of natural beauty, but increased efforts are needed to preserve the forests and natural habit.
The site of the January 23-31 trip will be a town in the northeastern part of the country called Rosita. This is a remote site far from Managua, the capital. This portion of the country receives much less support from the government and mission teams because of it's location. Our team will be taking a regional airline to save many hours of riding on a bus.
Rosita is an area of small farms, cattle ranches, and was at one time a place of considerable mining. A good bit of gold, silver, copper and iron have been extracted. At the present time, limited mining continues along with lumbering although most is done by foreign companies and little of the rewards filter to the Nicaraguans themselves. Although poor, we met an incredible group of local pastors who were enthusiastic in their invitation to welcome our team. They have a lively faith. Our invitation to visit Rosita was initiated by a pastor who rode on a motorcycle 7 hours to meet with us. Talk about faith!
In addition to our time in Rosita, a nice reward is planned by visiting Granda, a historic Spanish town and Apoyo Resort on the shores of a crystal clear lake located in the caldera of a extinct volcano.
Needs include those to deliver primary medicine and dentistry, pharmacy, PT, nursing and support personnel. Please consider joining our team. I know that God will honor your desire to serve.
