Gualaquiza is located in southern Ecuador near the Peru border.  It is home to a military base.  The city has 15,000 people that call it home.  It is next to the jungle/rain forest.  The weather will be hot and humid but October is not a rainy season.  NO MALARIA MEDICINE WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS TRIP!

Expect to see tribal people from the rain forest who are from the Shur and Ashur tribes.  At one time the tribal people were head hunters.

We will fly to Quito and overnight near the airport.  The next day we will fly to Loja and then a 3 hour bus ride to Gualaquiza.  There may be a chance that we could fly on a military aircraft from Quito to Gualaquiza.
