We welcome physicians, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, ophthalmologists, dermatologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, dental hygienists, dental assistants, physical/occupational therapists, students, and logistics (non-medical helpers).
We are blessed to provide primary medical and dental care to the nationals in Central Honduras. The climate is amazing. Our host, Pastor Melvin and his family are delightful. He is the lead pastor of Iglesia Bautista Emanuel (Emanuel Baptist Church) which is located in the regional capitol city of Siguatepeque. Pastor Melvin is committed to the Great Commission: making disciples who have a strong Biblical foundation, are capable of proclaiming Christ and go on to disciple others (2 Tim. 2:2). Pastor Melvin does this through pastoring a local church, teaching the Bible to pastors through an online bible school, and partnering with GHO to raise up leaders for tomorrow.
Melvin and his wife Alejandra have four children: Dr. Alejandra Maria, Celina Sofia, Josue David and Ariana Ester. His family comes alongside our GHO team to support and empower our ministry.
We are blessed to provide free medical and dental care to those in need in different areas of Honduras. More importantly, through a kind word, a warm smile, a loving touch, and our health services, they will receive the message of a loving Savior in Jesus Christ.

Requirements
Prerequisites
- IMPORTANT! You must have a valid passport that remains valid for at least six (6) months beyond the return date of your trip.
- Foreign language skills are appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Participate in morning and/or evening team meetings and devotions.
- Serve in the capacity of your assigned position on the team and/or as directed by the team leader.
Preparation
- Submit all requested credentials to GHO immediately. Credentials must be submitted to our National Partners 14 to 90 days prior to departure, depending on the country's requirements.
- Read "GHO Participant Manual" located under "Forms."
- Begin fundraising efforts.
- Immunization information can be found through the CDC Traveler's Health website at www.cdc.gov/travel.
