I quickly recognized how richly blessed Americans are in our daily lives, but how ungrateful we tend to be, which are lessons I pray I will never forget. Only a few miles outside the nation's capital city, there is poverty and many other obstacles to good medical care. Yet the people are so friendly and demonstrate true joy. I was so moved by the tearful women distraught because they cannot conceive, or the elderly people almost blind from cataracts or diabetes, or noticing on registration papers how many appeared years older than their actual birthdates, likely because of their hard lives. Being a non-medical servant, I anticipated being somewhat helpless. However, whether Christian or Muslim or unknown, not one turned down the offer to be prayed for. Many tears of joy flowed as they expressed their thanks for simple prayers. Almost all agreed to hear the gospel. The responses were smiles, handshakes, and some hugs. Some agreed to see some local people for more private teaching of the gospel and Bibles. Praise God many seeds were planted.

Please pray for the sick that were referred to local hospitals for treatment. Pray for those whom our team doctors continue to seek solutions and success in coordinating treatment. Pray God will bring those seeds of the gospel to fruition.
