First-Time Trip for My 15-year-old Daughter

My oldest daughter asked to go on a trip with me since she hears me chatter about my previous experiences. So, we decided on this student family friendly trip. It is again very organized and safe. It was fun seeing some of the same translators I had served with 3 months before on a previous trip. This trip involved long days and hard work. My daughter got to play with kids and practice her Spanish. She also went with some other American teens on the team to a local school and helped them with their English. She gave out reading glasses and prayed with patients. She got to watch a number of simple surgeries, which she absolutely loved! She is typically a quiet type, but it was good to see her make new friends with other teens and experience new foods and a different culture.
