URGENT NEEDS: Dentists, Nurses & Physical Therapist
We will be working in a densely populated urban area. During the first week, our clinic will be held in a large street tent in one of the largest red light districts in Asia. Our patient population will consist largely of human trafficking victims working as prostitutes. Many of these patients are HIV positive. They have been brought to this area from scattered areas in other nations in the region. Our patients will also include pimps, brothel owners and the customers as well as local business people and others that God sends our way.
We also expect to work for several days in a different red light district area located in a different part of the city. Our national partner has a small medical clinic there that we will use. This is a very needy area and we are thankful to serve this population.
We will finish our time ministering in rescue homes located several hours from town. The staff and residents are a joy to be around and this time is special!
The GHO team will be well cared for in the city. The team will stay very close to the work area in an International Guest House with clean spacious rooms, hot showers, buffet breakfasts and dinners, and air conditioning.
The trip includes a lengthy visa process that will require staying on top of paperwork and some additional costs ($535.00) beyond the trip fee. Once applicants are accepted onto the team, I will send detailed instructions regarding this process.
