Nicaragua January 27 - February 4/2018, SR1344
This trip is now closed. Please explore our other trip opportunities at www.ghotrips.org.
Location is Rosa Grande.
We welcome physicians, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, first responders, dental hygienists, dental assistants, physical/occupation therapists, students, logistics (non-medical helpers), and a trip photographer/videographer on all of our general medicine and dentistry trips.
For the past 5 years the focus of this team has been to serve the rarely visited Atlantic region of Nicaragua. There are some roads to this part of the country, but they are very bad and travel is difficult. Thus, few short term mission teams reach this far from Managua.
The towns of Suina, Bonanza, and Rosita form what’s called the “gold triangle”. Mining still occurs in the hills around theses towns. Many people seek for material wealth while the local pastors work to point people to the streets of gold promised to those who follow Christ. It’s these humble servants that we will be coming alongside.
We will take the national airline, Costena, and fly from Managua to Suina where we will be staying. Our actually clinic site will be in a small town called Rosa Grande. It’s here that we will join our pastor hosts to provide physical care, but also hopefully spiritual as well.
Short term care often yields short term improvement, however, long term benefits can accrue as the local church people and pastors are encouraged. A conference to teach and support them will be held 3 days of the brigade, besides the medical, dental, and physical therapy.
Please consider joining with us in this effort. Past trips have been most enjoyable and we trust that continuing to target and support this area will help to expand God’s Kingdom work.
