Ind*a October 4 - 18/2014
WHEN
Oct 4 2014 - Oct 18 2014
COST
$3,850.00
TRIP IS CLOSED
Positions Needed: Physicians, PAs, NPs, RN,, Pharmacy, and limited Logistics (non-medical helpers). We desire an Ob-Gyn, a Dermatologist, a Pediatrician, and a Physical Therapist. (NOTE: RN positions have been filled already)
We will be working in a densely populated urban area. For the first week we set up a big tent on the street in K_mithapura and operate our clinic out of that “facility”. Our patient population will consist largely of human trafficking victims working as prostitutes. Many of these patients are HIV positive. Active TB is also common. These victims hail from many people groups in I_dia, N_pal and numerous other nations. BTC’s church in the Red Light District has ministered to people from several dozen nations. Our patients will also include pimps and others that God sends our way.
We also expect to work a couple days in a different Red Light District area, located in T_rbhe, Ind_a, which is in greater M_mbai. BTC has a small medical clinic there that we expect to use for a couple days. This is a very needy area and we are thankful to serve this population.
The GHO team will be well cared for in Mumb_i. The team will stay just several minutes from the Kam_thapura Red Light District in the YMCA International Guest House with clean spacious rooms, hot showers, buffet breakfasts and dinners, no bugs and air conditioning.
All our licensed physicians on the GHO team will need to apply for temporary licensure to work as volunteers for this trip. The cost for this visa is about $350 and is not included in your trip fee. Once applicants are accepted onto the team, I will send detailed instructions regarding this process.
For more information about this trip contact Dr. O’Callaghan by email at [email protected] and ask for the Team Orientation Manual.
