***TRIP IS CLOSED!***

This trip and team is designed for dental and medical students. We will have 20 dental students from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry operating a full mobile dental clinic. We are partnering with faculty and students from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine to provide primary medical care to the nationals in Siguatepeque, Honduras. The rest of the team will be physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmacist, PA's and physical therapists to help train the next generation of medical missionaries. Any others who would consider applying, will be placed on a waiting list. Please e-mail Dr. Maddy directly for any considerations of interest.

We will be hosted by the Iglesia Bautista Emanuel (Emmanuel Baptist Church) in Siguatepeque, Honduras that is pastored by Melvin Romero. This is the home church of Tina Cedillos, who has served as our GHO Lab Tech since the early years of GHO ministry in Honduras, that initiated back in 1999. There are several other Baptist churches who will partner with Melvin and his home church to host our GHO team. Siguatepeque is home to the well-known Hospital Evangelica, founded by the Central American Mission. This hospital is now a self-sustaining (a very good thing) but requires payment up front for any services. So most people in Siquatepeque have to travel to Comayagua or La Paz to get government health care they can afford.

Our team will fly into San Pedro Sula and ride a bus to Siguatepeque, a two hour trip. Siguatepeque is at 3.600 feet altitude and offers a cooler, mountain setting. After a great week of ministry in Siguatepeque, we will explore some of the flora and fauna of Lago Yojoa, the largest lake (79 sq. kilometers) in Honduras. Honduras is the land where my parents first began their missionary service back in 1945. I lived there as a MK for three years and attended a MK boarding school in Siguatepeque, so I have many fond memories of this mountain town and its wonderful people! I have led many GHO teams all over Honduras these past 16 years. (Ron Brown - Team Leader)
