Come! Join us! This is a rewarding and delightful outreach to a poor community outside of San Salvador. This is a small town but the population we will reach is over 50,000 people. It is 10 miles northeast of San Salvador and is situated 2,907 feet above sea level. The people mainly work in retail and agriculture. It is underserved in its medical and dental needs.
Our partner church in El Salvador is Cimiento Estable, which can be translated as "firm foundation" church. They have been ministering alongside GHO for 15 years. The founding pastor is Rene Mejia. He was led by the Lord to begin this ministry 30 years ago. His wife Elena serves with him. They have grown daughers Annie and Gloria.
A key companion ministry the church sponsors is the Oasis School, which has over 600 students in 12 grades. The school is rated in the top 10 private schools in San Salvador.
We are blessed to have Pastor Rene Gonzales serve as our local arrangements guru. He has been in the church since age 3 and has been on staff since 2010. Rene's wife Magali is a physician and they have two children Rene and Alicia.
One of the pleasures of serving this week is that 10th graders from the Oasis School will serve as our interpreters. They are a delightful group of Christian young men and women. Classes are taught in english beginning in the first grade and this leads to excellent english skills. We will worship with the church on Sunday morning in a rousing and challenging service you don't want to miss.
The work here is busy but at a pleasant pace. We need physicians, PAs, NPs, dermatologists, chiropractors, dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, logistics, etc. to serve the needs of this community in the name of Jesus.
This ministry follows the command of Jesus in Luke 9:2 "and He sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick."
We encourage families of medical personnel to join with us. We are limited to 24 people with half of them serving with their medical/dental skills. Magnify your joy in service.

- Some foreign language skill is greatly appreciated
