Looking for a medical mission? Maybe this would be your first trip or you are interested in joining as a family, or health profession students? Then we have a great opportunity for you in the Dominican Republic.
While being the most popular tourist destination in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic is also a nation tainted by a history of corruption, a fragile economy, high unemployment and income inequality. They have great needs so we go to bring hope through medical and dental care, but more importantly, through the presentation of the bread of life, and living water of Christ.
Come with us as we partner with Oasis Church in Santo Domingo, the largest city and capital, to help an area of great need outside the urban center. GHO has a long working relationship with the Oasis brethren, who provide graciously and abundantly for the team’s needs, including set up, translation, delicious meals, and safe transportation. We will stay in a comfortable hotel in the heart of Santo Domingo and travel by bus daily to the mission location. We will start our days early, have daily praise and worship twice a day, and wrap up the events of the days in “God sightings’ discussions in the evenings. The outreach runs Monday through Friday. In addition to the medical/dental clinic, we will distribute water filters in the community, run a VBS for children, train select individuals in public health, teach first aid to the community, and conduct home visits. We reserve Saturday to have a fun day, travel to the Spanish colonial city of Santo Domingo and go to the beach, Finally we part ways on Sunday.
We welcome physicians, dermatologists, dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physicians' assistants, nurses, medical assistants, physical and occupational therapists, optometrists, health profession students and non medical servants.

Prerequisites
- IMPORTANT! You must have a valid passport that remains valid for at least six (6) months beyond the return date of your trip.
- Foreign language skills are appreciated, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Participate in morning and/or evening team meetings and devotions
- Serve in the capacity of your assigned position on the team and/or as directed by the team leader
Preparation
- Submit all requested credentials to GHO immediately. Credentials must be submitted to our National Partners 14 to 90 days prior to departure, depending on the country's requirements.
- Read the GHO Participant Manual located under 'Forms'.
- Begin fundraising efforts
