We welcome physicians, dentists, pharmacists, dermatologists, optometrists, ophthalmologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, first responders, dental hygienists, dental assistants, physical/occupational therapists, students, servants (non-medical helpers), pastors and a trip photographer/videographer on all of our general medicine and dentistry trips.
GHO has the privilege of serving again in this area of The Gambia. They are in desperate need of the Light of the Gospel. Our GHO partner is a growing church in this area of West Africa which is located in a beautiful ocean-side setting.
In mission partnership and service, we pray God’s kingdom will advance through disciple-making and leadership development in this indigenous local church. The pastor was born and raised in the local service area and has a heart for the lost and hurting people of his country.
We will be serving by means of primary care medicine and dental services. As the Lord builds the team, we would also plan to have an eyeglass and children’s ministry.
There is growing excitement for this ministry opportunity. This is an excellent short-term Global Health rotation for students of all backgrounds, including healthcare students and undergraduate college students. It is also an excellent opportunity for families and spouses to serve!

Requirements
Prerequisites
- IMPORTANT! You must have a valid passport that remains valid for at least six (6) months beyond the return date of your trip.
- Foreign language skills are appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Participate in morning and/or evening team meetings and devotions.
- Serve in the capacity of your assigned position on the team and/or as directed by the team leader.
Restrictions
- You must be 18 years old or older to join this team.
Preparation
- Submit all requested credentials to GHO immediately. Credentials must be submitted to our National Partners 14 to 90 days prior to departure, depending on the country's requirements.
- Read the GHO Participant Manual located under "Forms."
- Begin fundraising efforts.
- Immunization information can be found through the CDC Traveler's Health website at wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel.
