We welcome physicians, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, ophthalmologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, first responders, dental hygienists, dental assistants, physical/occupational therapists, students, logistics (non-medical helpers), and a trip photographer/videographer on all of our general medicine and dentistry trips.

Welcome to Team Ghana 2019!  If you would like to partner with 50 amazing Ghanaian Christian leaders in rural Africa to minister to large crowds of people who have limited to no access to basic medical care, then God is calling you to Ghana.  I would like to invite you to join us in the treatment of tropical diseases, such as malaria, typhoid, malignant hypertension, and schistosomiasis, as 30 local pastors win souls for eternity.  This is a Student Focus trip!

We will serve in the northern Volta region, a geographic location known for the origin of Voodoo, where ancestral worship and devil worship are pervasive.  We'll begin our outreach with a Sunday unity rally.  We will join 1000 local Christians gathered to sing, dance, and praise God.  On Monday, we will travel a half-hour by bus to our local clinics where we plan to serve 2000 people in 6 days.  There may be no electricity or running water, but God and our local leaders will provide everything that we will need.  We anticipate dispensing 800 pairs of eyeglasses, treating 400 cases of malaria, and managing 500 cases of severe hypertension.  Our dental team will be treating hundreds of people who have waited years for their arrival.  Each patient will receive the message of the Gospel in their own language from our team of 30 pastors.  We will be practicing in an area endemic for rare tropical diseases, such as River Blindness and Guinea Worm - diseases targeted for worldwide eradication.

Highlights of the trip, aside from our time of service, will include excellent shopping, a native village walk, watching baptisms in the Volta River, and a tour of local artisan's workshop.  We will have morning and evening worship and devotions.  Evening activities include Face Timing home, answering emails, and fun and fellowship with team members at the hotel.  We will return home August 6th.

We are looking for at least 8 providers (Physician, PA, NP), 4 nurses, a paramedic/ first responder, 2 - 3 physical therapists, at least 1 dentist, hygienist, 2 pharmacists, students (Medical, PA, NP), and non-medical logistic team members.  We also welcome later junior high, high school, and other college students.  If asked, we will attempt to complete any global health elective requirements.  Previous tropical medical experience is not required. We will be arranging for team tropical medical education meetings by Skype prior to the trip.

We know God has already issued a call to the members of Team Ghana 2019.  We can't wait to meet and serve with you!
