Trip is now closed to Physicians, however there is still a need for a Dentist, Physical Therapists, and two Optometrists.
Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America bordered by Honduras and Costa Rica as well as the Caribbean and Pacific oceans while holding a very dear place in our hearts. It is a beautiful country with amazing people who are such a joy to serve. It is also the poorest country in Central America and while the people are hurting financially, physically, and emotionally, spiritually they seem to be stronger than ever, which isn’t surprising considering the purifying effect of persecution.
Our team gets the special opportunity to once again join Nicaragua GHO Director Rolando Castillo and his team, hosting a medical and dental clinic in an area of great need. Our combined team will provide top-notch medical and dental care through our clinics and possibly some home visits, and will be sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we provide that care. In addition, we will have an eye clinic providing full eye screening and reading glasses, as well as a community health training opportunity to empower local believers by teaching them to take blood pressures, make rehydration salts and learn basic wound and burn care, etc. Distribution an training on the use of water filters to areas without access to clean water will also be offered.
We are going to offer them free healthcare but more importantly, through a kind word, a warm smile, a loving touch, and our health care, they will receive the message of a loving Savior in Jesus Christ. Prerequisites
- IMPORTANT! The expiration date on your passport MUST be at least 6 months past the return date of your trip. Processing times for new passports and passport renewals is 3 - 4 months so be sure to start the process immediately after you have been approved for the trip if your passport expiration date does not meet the requirement.
- Foreign language skills are appreciated, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Attending morning and evening team meetings, including devotions
- Serving in the capacity of position on team and/or at direction of the team leader

- Begin Fundraising
- Submit all requested documents to GHO once your application for the trip has been approved.
