NOTE: GHO has a COVID plan to do our best to keep trip participants and our patients safe and healthy. We are watching country requirements closely. It is possible this mission will cancel in which case your application and funds will be moved to a future mission of your choice.

*Currently CDC has lifted guidelines and no longer recommend a quarantine upon return to the U.S. if you have been vaccinated for COVID-19. We do however recommend you check with your employer or hospital for their requirements before committing to the mission.

All team members must be Covid-19 vaccinated to attend this mission trip. This includes ages 16 and up, with younger team members not allowed to attend at this time. All Covid-19 restrictions will be lifted as soon as safely possible.

*Special Travel Note: Due to COVID-19 restrictions and regulations, no deviations from the trip dates will be allowed.

This trip is looking for primary care providers, dermatologists, dentists, pharmacists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, dental hygienists, dental assistants, physical/occupational therapists, and an ophthalmologist or optometrist. The trip specialty is REFUGEE CARE.

The majority of refugees are seeking safety no longer found in their homeland. This trip will be focusing on ministering to the thousands of refugees in the tent camps and will also spend some time at the church clinic.

This country, as one of the main gateways into Europe for people fleeing numerous war-torn and chronically unstable countries, is on the frontline of this crisis which shows little signs of ending. Conflicts rage on in the home countries of many refugees and migrants landing on its shores.

The initial agreement to relocate refugees has faltered since a large majority agreed to it during the height of the refugee crisis in September 2015. Of the 160,000 refugees intended to relocate, about 5 percent or 8,000 have been settled. That leaves about 152,000 people waiting in ill-equipped shelters to be processed, settled, or deported. Living conditions for refugees in this area are very poor and their future is in doubt.

Since we will be serving a large population of Muslims, it will be important for us to have a large percentage of our providers to be female. This team will allow a limited number of non-medical helpers (called Servants). The minimum age to participate is 16.

We will have a chance to see the Acropolis and Corinth.

Could it be that you have been created for such a mission as this?
